Nir is interested in social theory and questions about modernization and interconnectedness. From a sociology of knowledge perspective, and drawing on elements from Bourdieusian field theory, world society theory, and differentiation, his dissertation explores the coming together and the changing nature of the fields of humanitarianism and international development. Additionally, he has a keen interest in the social side of policy, with a focus on higher education.
