Laboratory Techniques in Archaeology

Amy Selvius is an undergrad archaeology intern. She is in a lab working with some tools and materials.

We offer a Learning Laboratory Techniques course (ANTH 4007) designed to teach students basic and advanced lab techniques used in the discipline.

During the course, students work independently or in small groups on projects supervised by faculty members or graduate students. In the past, projects have included cataloging artifacts, bone breakage analysis, 3D scanning and model making, processing archaeobotanical remains and soil samples, scientific outreach and education, the evolution of ape and human cranial anatomy, and stone tool analysis.

In order to register, students must fill out an application and be approved to register for the course.
