Graduate Minor in Art History

The graduate minor in art history allows MA and PhD students from a wide range of related disciplines to augment their studies with training in visual analysis, historical methodologies, aesthetic theories, and varied forms of writing. It provides invaluable intellectual links to scholars and other graduate students pursuing research on the history and theory of the visual arts around the globe, from the ancient period to the contemporary.

Such a distinction also helps demonstrate students’ interdisciplinary training and diversity of expertise, and serves as an indication of their preparedness for diverse careers in and outside of the academy.
