The University of Minnesota's College of Liberal Arts is fortunate to have received two large grants this year. The Charles E. and Myrtle L. Stroud Scholarship and the Russell J. and Dorothy S. Bilinski Fellowship will provide countless support to current and future undergraduate and graduate students.
The University of Minnesota received nearly $14 million from the estate of Myrtle Stroud, a longtime resident of Windom, Minn., who died in 2010 at the age of 101. The gift, designated for scholarships in the College of Liberal Arts, makes it the largest single gift for scholarships in the U’s history.
