Questions concerning the annual review of chairs/directors should be directed to the Office of the Associate Dean for Faculty.
The University requires that written performance evaluations be prepared annually for all academic administrators in 93XX classifications, which includes chairs and directors.
In the College of Liberal Arts, the annual review of chairs/directors is conducted by the unit's merit-review committee, which prepares a written report to the dean regarding the performance of the chair/director in four areas: administrative service, scholarly research and/or other creative work, teaching, and other professional activities.
The annual review of chairs/directors conducted during academic year 2011/12 should focus primarily on spring semester 2011, summer 2011, and fall semester 2011, but may extend beyond this period when appropriate.
Materials related to the annual review of chairs/directors must be submitted electronically via the CLA projects drive, no later than Friday, 6 April 2012. Chairs'/directors' faculty activity reports and curricula vitae, chairs'/directors' self evaluations, and unit evaluations of chairs/directors must be submitted as separate pdf files.
