Woodwind & Brass Auditions
All students who would like to participate in University Wind Ensemble, University Symphony Orchestra, University Philharmonic Orchestra, University Band, and/or Symphonic Band need to audition. For Campus Bands and Campus Orchestras, simply register and attend the first class meeting to take the class. Please contact us by email at this address with any questions or concerns.
Fall 2024 Audition Information
Fall 2024 auditions for University Wind Ensemble, University Symphony Orchestra, and Symphonic Band will take place in-person September 3-6, 2024. University Band and University Philharmonic Orchestra auditions will take place on September 5, 2024. See audition information below.

Please fill out an Ensemble Audition Interest Form to be notified when audition materials and the audition sign-up form are available. Course registration for auditioned ensembles will only occur after completion of a successful audition and permissions are entered.
Auditioned ensembles begin fall rehearsals the week of September 9, 2024.
Students auditioning on woodwind and brass instruments should prepare one of two sets of audition materials. Please consult with your applied studio teacher or current ensemble director to determine the appropriate materials to prepare.
University Wind Ensemble / University Symphony Orchestra (packet available early June)
- All students interested in USO or UWE are required to prepare the USO/UWE packet.
Symphonic Band / University Band (packet available early June)
- All students interested in Symphonic Band (SB) or University Band (UB) should prepare the SB/UB packet. Students preparing these materials will not be eligible for placement in USO or UWE.
