Digital Premodern Workshop
The Digital Premodern Workshop is our recognition of the importance of 21st century technological innovation in the study of the distant past. Digital technologies make the premodern world newly accessible to scholars and students. Exciting new research projects, such as the digitization of archives and the technological reconfiguration of research practices and products, help bring the distant past to our fingertips.
Information literacy and digital expertise are becoming essential skills for 21st century scholars and teachers. Powerful ties connect recent trends in digital humanities to the global, multidisciplinary study of the premodern world. The goal of our Digital Premodern Workshop is to make digital research, scholarship, and teaching a centerpiece of the Consortium for the Study of the Premodern World.
