Scholarships & Awards

Each year, the School of Journalism & Mass Communication awards more than 100 scholarships worth more than $250,000 to undergraduate majors and premajors in the SJMC. These scholarships are awarded based upon academic performance; potential for a career in mass communication; and, in some instances, financial need.

How do I qualify?

If you are a SJMC major and you are enrolled full-time, you may apply for an SJMC scholarship. Awards are for the following academic year and range from $500 to $7,500. There are also specific scholarships available if you are a first-year student and you plan on pursuing a major in the SJMC.
