AuD/PhD

The AuD/PhD program at the University of Minnesota is designed to prepare students who wish to obtain licensure and clinical certification in audiology while also pursing endeavors in research and scholarship. This form of programming is ideal for students who wish to seek careers in academia, a clinical path in education, and other clinical/research interests.

In order to be considered for this type of programming:

  • Apply to the AuD program. The process is the same as applying to the AuD program without planning to pursue a PhD.
  • After your initial year of study, apply to the PhD program.
    • Acceptance is not automatic.
  • Consult with a major advisor about the best timing of academic, clinical education, and professional credentialing requirements.
