National Research Mentoring Network: Mentoring to Diversify the Biomedical Workforce

Undergraduate and graduate students of all backgrounds who are interested in the biomedical sciences are invited to stop by this open house and informational session. The National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN) aims to utilize structured mentorship and networking experiences to enhance the training and career development of individuals from diverse backgrounds, communities, and cultures who are pursuing biomedical and behavioral research careers.

Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) 
The Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) is a free summer enrichment program focused on improving access to information and resources for college students interested in the health professions. SHPEP’s goal is to strengthen the academic proficiency and career development of students underrepresented in the health professions and prepare them for a successful application and matriculation to health professions schools.

Multicultural Summer Research Opportunities Program (MSROP) 
MSROP gives undergraduates an opportunity to develop research and inquiry skills with a faculty mentor on an individual basis or as part of a research team. Through the mentoring process, students are introduced to the methodology of their chosen discipline by involving them in research and other scholarly activities. MSROP runs for ten weeks on the Twin Cities campus June 5-August 11, 2017. University of Minnesota sophomores, juniors, and seniors (that are enrolled for at least one additional semester after the summer program) majoring in the Social Sciences, Arts, Humanities, Education, Natural Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, and Engineering are eligible to apply.
