Broadly speaking, my research focuses on interpersonal relationships from a social developmental perspective. Much of my research is guided by attachment theory as a means to understanding over time, developmental processes. More specifically, I am interested in how close relationships (e.g., romantic, familial) change and can be changed by the people within those relationships, their early life experiences, and the interactive experiences between those in and outside of the relationships. I seek to answer the question: Why do some relationships/people stay the same over time while others change?
