I am a Ph.D. student in German Studies in the Department of German, Nordic, Slavic & Dutch at the University of Minnesota. I studied film studies, audiovisual media and philosophy in Germany, Belgium and Canada before moving from Berlin to the United States in 2017. My academic interests include contemporary art, film studies, critical theory, cultural studies and gender and race studies. Regarding my dissertation, I am interested in examining contemporary art and moving image art and their potential to form a creative resistance in times of global political crises.
