Dr Robert B Kvavik
Robert B. Kvavik joined the faculty of the University of Minnesota in 1968. A specialist on comparative politics, he has published on comparative government and politics, and especially Norwegian politics. He has taught at the University of Oslo, the University of Ibadan in Nigeria, and Columbia University. Recently he has written on the implementation of enterprise systems, with a particular focus on the impact of information technologies on institutional services and student learning. Kvavik has extensive experience as a consultant to universities worldwide on university planning and administrative systems design and implementation. He is a nationally known speaker on information technology-enabled services in higher education. In 2007, King Harald V appointed Professor Kvavik Knight First Class of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit for his promotion of research and university collaboration between the United States and Norway. He was honored for his efforts to develop Scandinavian studies in North America as president of the Society for the Advancement of Scandinavian Study and for collaboration between the United States and Norway in political science and research administration and innovative use of technology in higher education.
