My academic interests focus on the intersections of dance and politics. In my research, I explore how embodied artistic practice creates and reshapes meaning in people's everyday lives. My dissertation examines the political and cultural work of social transformation as experienced and narrated by the professional ballet community in postcolonial South Africa.
