I am a student in the cultural anthropology PhD program, which I started in September 2009. My research interest is how Tajiks perceive time when they reflect on the 1992-98 Tajik civil war. I am also interested in what influence Islam has on this, if any. Communities emerging from protracted violent conflict rarely perceive time in a simple linear fashion. I also have research interests in Iran, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Israel/Palestine. I am from Aotearoa (New Zealand).
