Lars Z Mackenzie

Lars Z. Mackenzie's current research examines how software in the fields of healthcare, credit reporting, and background check verification fail to account for people based on gender and race. Lars has been awarded the Informatics Institute "Critical Data Studies: Where is the Human in the Data?" Fellowship (Summer 2016), Susan Geiger Fellowship (Spring 2017), Gender Policy Report Fellowship (Summer 2017), and a Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship (2017-2018) for this research. His broader research and teaching interests include critical data and information studies, surveillance, social movements, media and culture, law, health, science studies, and digital humanities.
