BA Anthropology, History minor, Illinois State U, 2003. My research focus in archaeology centers on the later prehistoric Mississippian Period of the Central Mississippi Valley and neighboring regions, with a material focus on ceramic and whole vessel analyses. My dissertation project involves reconstructing the cultural context of a historically collected archaeological assemblage at the Science Museum of Minnesota that may have been excavated from a Cherry Valley Phase (1050-1150 AD) Middle Mississippian site in northeastern Arkansas. Other regional specialties include late prehistoric and protohistoric Southern Appalachia and the Iron Age of southern Germany.
