Angela J Wyatt

Angela Wyatt received a graduate degree in saxophone performance in 1998 from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, where she studied with Frederick Hemke. She was awarded program honors for her work at Northwestern. Wyatt has also studied with Ruben Haugen and Jean-Marie Londeix.
A founding member of the Minneapolis based Ancia Saxophone Quartet, Wyatt has performed with the Quartet in concerts in the United States, Canada and Europe and has also appeared on Minnesota Public Radio as a member of the Quartet. An ardent supporter of new music, Wyatt works closely with composers and has premiered a number of works for quartet or solo saxophone including a joint- commission project of Pulitzer prize winning composer Gunther Schuller.
She has performed numerous solo recitals and has presented solo performances at the World Saxophone Congress. She has been the featured soloist with the Mississippi Valley Chamber Orchestra, Century College Orchestra and the St. Olaf Band and has also performed with the Bloomington (MN) Symphony, Minneapolis Civic Orchestra, and Metropolitan Symphony (Mpls.).
