The Department of American Indian Studies, College of Liberal Arts, invites applications for a full-time professor (open rank, tenured or tenure-track) position beginning fall semester 2021.  The appointment will be 100% time over the nine-month academic year (late August to late May) at a rank depending on qualifications and experience, and consistent with collegiate and University policy. Salary is competitive.  

This search is open as to the field. Among the areas we are interested in are Politics/Governance/Law, Native Arts, Environmental Studies, or Literature and Film. Expertise in Oceti Sakowin studies and/or Dakota language is desirable.   An appropriate terminal degree is required, as is an excellent record of research and/or creative production, teaching, advising, and service. If applying at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level, the ideal candidates will be those with a distinguished record of teaching, advising, and service, preferably including administrative experience at a research institution.
