American Studies Internship Call for Application

 

The Department of American Studies is offering unrestricted scholarships to six students who enroll in AMST 3896
Internship for Academic Credit course. Students will do their internship and enroll in the course in the Fall 2020
semester. Students will have the opportunity to work with an American Studies faculty mentor and enter into a
learning community with other students as they pursue a valuable internship experience.

Award: $4,000 USD
Number of Award: Six (6) Awards (one per student)
Applicable Term: Fall Semester 2020
Deadline: March 1, 2020

Other Information: The department will work with successful applicants to secure internship
placements.

Application Procedure:
In 500 -750 words describe what you would like to learn from your internship opportunity, how an internship will
contribute to your course of study, and why American Studies makes sense as your internship home. You are
welcome to identify specific prospective sites for your internship although that is not required.

Student Requirement:
- Registered student with good standing within the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota;
- Preferences will be given to the American Studies Majors and Minors followed by students from other
programs within CLA.
- Must be in good academic standing with the College of Liberal Arts.
