Nikki Otten Wins First Prize for Paper at the Cleveland Symposium
Please join us in congratulating Nikki Otten who won first prize for the paper she presented at the 43rd Annual Cleveland Symposium. The theme of the symposium was Ars et Scientia: Intersections of Science and the Visual Arts. The paper entitled "To give life to these monsters:” Germs and religion in Odilon Redon’s "The Temptation of Saint Anthony" is based on a chapter in her dissertation. Nikki is a PhD student in the Department of Art History who studies 19th and early 20th century art.
