“There isn’t a more compelling, demanding, or important field than art. By expressing yourself creatively, you are taking what you know to be true about the world and transform it into something for an audience to see. You are contributing to one of art’s most important functions—you are allowing people to experience the world in new ways, to pause for a moment from their understandings and routines to view the world through your eyes, to understand the world differently. This is especially important now.”

—Emmett Ramstad, BA Capstone Instructor

Come Apart Together documents life during a pandemic and building or imagining spaces outside of it. Over the last three months, each artist worked separately but collectively came together to share ideas and provide each other with support and feedback. Their art is a combination of activism, strategies for coping, and offers new perspectives for understanding our world. They are storytellers navigating tangible ways to be artists and how to share their creativity with a greater community. Explore the exhibit now through January 15, 2021.
