As part of a large public research university, the Department of Asian Languages & Literatures (ALL) is dedicated to increasing awareness and learning about Asia among the public as a whole. Offerings are available at a variety of levels—from the introductory to the advanced. You don't need to be majoring or minoring in ALL or ALCM to take courses in the department.
