The University of Minnesota–Twin Cities is located in one of the most progressive Hmong communities in the nation. Students in the Hmong program are able to utilize many opportunities from the Hmong community, as well as attend numerous Hmong events hosted throughout the year. Students are able to apply the knowledge they learned from these events to extra credit work as well as final presentations and papers.
After completing the full two years of Hmong language, students are able to register for the advanced Hmong course, which is currently planned for study abroad in Summer 2019. This course will be hosted in Chiang Mai, Thailand in partnership with the CET program, home of the Chinese program.
The Hmong Studies Program Fund supports the Hmong Studies Program and may be used for study abroad program participation support, awards, activities, and other general program needs
