How to Fall in Love With Yourself

June 23, 2018

Hi, my name is Cole Sterr. And I love myself. Why do I love myself? Because I’m the sh*t, that’s why!

Seriously, I do love myself! Loving yourself is probably the most important thing you can do to maintain a healthier and more positive lifestyle. Now you’re probably thinking, “It’s easier said than done blah blah blah.” Yes, that is true. It is easier said than done. Do you think I was always in love with that smokin’ hot hunk pictured above for all 19 years of my life?! No! It took years of being in the closet, making mistakes, experiencing new things, and growing older to finally love the Cole Sterr I am today!

Which leads me to this blog. I am going to ~teach~ you and give you some tips and tricks on how to sweep yourself off your feet!

You look great by the way.

Surround yourself with positive people.

Have a shitty significant other? Dump them! Have an amazing significant other? Keep ‘em! Don’t like the friends you’re hanging out with? Unfriend them! Hate your co-workers? Quit your job! Surrounding yourself with positive people will truly make you feel the same way Kanye does about himself! And you won’t regret it.

Find loopholes around the things you don’t like about yourself.

Okay, this one is an odd one. But, trust me, it works. For example, I hate the size of my nose because it’s so big. However, that doesn’t give me an excuse to hate myself! So, instead, I’ve convinced myself that my big nose allows me to smell things better! Don’t be afraid to make an excuse for the things you don’t like about yourself. Have big ears? You can hear better! Have small ears? You can block out the haters easily! Do you hate the fact that you’re loud? Well, people won’t have a hard time hearing you! Are you too quiet? Well, you won’t be the reason why someone becomes hard of hearing then!

Go on a romantic date alone.

Or, just spend time with yourself. Go to a coffee shop! Read a book. Make a dank recipe! Go on a photoshoot with friends. Don’t have any friends? Walk outside and make some friends! Make a list of frozen pizza brands you’d like to try and test them out on a Saturday night. Eat pizza rolls and ranch. Run a marathon. Go skydiving. Become president! The possibilities are endless!

Look in the mirror a lot.

Not a lot of people know this, but I had such bad acne my sophomore and junior years of high school that I barely had the courage to look at myself in the mirror. Like, what the poop! So, wake up everyday, look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that you’re a sexy piece of burnin’ love and the world will not stop your attractive lookin’ self anytime soon! Say this about 57 times until it sticks.

Block out the haters.

Haters can be cruel. Did someone make fun of you for farting in public? Tell them it was only a warning! Did someone make fun of you for being a try-hard? Tell them it’s a mixture of your Meyers Briggs and zodiac sign that makes you who you are! But, the most cruel hater of yourself can be yourself! So, after blocking off all the haters who aren’t you, make sure to block out any hate you have for yourself, too!

Dance by yourself.

My all-time personal favorite! Just put on some Whitney Houston “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” or Kelly Clarkson “I Don’t Think About You,” and you’ll be good to go. You’re welcome.

Take a stupid selfie and write a blog about loving yourself and then crack open some Ben & Jerry’s.

It definitely helped for me!

Seriously, loving yourself can be hard. I get it. But, at the end of the day, you will always be with yourself and that person inside of you isn’t going anywhere. Look inside of yourself, be honest, and don’t be afraid to do what you think is beautiful, sexy, intelligent, daring, bold, inspiring, creative, or adventurous - whatever it may be, being yourself is just enough!

Spend time alone, fall in love with yourself, and stay in love with yourself! You’ll thank yourself later.
