Kicking Off Summer in the Twin Cities
Finals are over and school is out! "Now what?" you ask? Never fear. We’ve got you covered! Whether you prefer an afternoon of art and music in Minneapolis or an evening releasing water lanterns in St. Paul, there is always plenty going on in the Twin Cities! Here are some of the best events happening this June.
Stone Arch Bridge Festival: The Minneapolis Art & Music Festival
Date: Friday, June 14–Sunday, June 16
Time: Friday, 6:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.; Saturday, 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.; Sunday, 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Place: SE Main Street in Minneapolis
Every Father’s Day weekend the Stone Arch Bridge Festival is put on to liven up the Twin Cities and bring people together. This year the festival will consist of over 200 musical artists, local food and vending, art, and a car show. This weekend is a great way to become more familiar with the local artists and merchants that make up the Twin Cities, as well as spend some time outside with friends and family.
Uptown Food Truck Festival
Date: June 23
Time: 11:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m.
Place: 3001 Hennepin Ave S, Minneapolis
This annual food truck festival is a day that you will surely not want to miss. An event dedicated to food, beer, and live music, the Uptown Food Truck Festival is one that won’t disappoint. Whether you’re a meat-loving connoisseur or crisp, fresh salads are more your fancy, the wide variety of 65+ food trucks will have something that everyone will enjoy!
Twin Cities Water Lantern Festival
Date: June 29
Time: 6:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.
Place: Phalen Park Beach House (St. Paul)
The Water Lantern Festival allows purchasers to release their own customizable lantern onto Lake Phalen, lighting it up with hundreds of little candles. Not only is it a priority for visitors to create special memories during the event, but it’s also important for the organization to remain environmentally conscious, ensuring that all lanterns are made of sustainable materials and are cleaned up once the event is over.
St. Paul Farmers Market
Date/Time: Saturdays, 7:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.; Sundays, 8:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Place: 290 5th St E (St. Paul)
This weekly farmers market is a favorite among many Twin Cities natives. Ranging from flowers to fresh produce to locally-made jewelry, the infamous outdoor market offers endless goodies.
