How did you get to where you are today? What influenced your decision to pursue this path?
My father instilled an endless curiosity for learning at a very early age. I have a lot of people in my life that work in the entrepreneurial space and they influenced me greatly by showing you can make money doing just about anything so you might as well make money doing something you love and something that helps someone! I worked in Social Media Marketing for 3 years before I decided to jump ship and make a major career shift into the health and wellness industry. I just didn’t feel like I was helping anyone by making posts for social media and I needed a career where I could feel like I was helping people. I texted my personal Trainer, Dusty Olson and told him I wanted a change. About a month later he asked if I could start! I have been here for just under a year and I absolutely LOVE what I do!

Which competencies and/or skills have been most useful or valuable for you and how did you build them?
The ability to convey one message in many ways is something I learned from learning another language. There are many ways to be able to say the same thing and sometimes it is valuable to change the delivery to match the person receiving the message.
Consistently getting out of the comfort zone has been one of the biggest factors in my life that has lead to my growth as a person. There is nothing wrong with being comfortable in life, but understand there is no growth in the comfort zone and there sure isn’t comfort in the growth zone!! Push yourself beyond what you think you can do and you will always surprise yourself.

What are some strategies or resources you have relied on to get to where you are today?
I have always asked others for input or advice if they could go back to how old I am and have gotten a lot of useful tips that way. I also LOVE asking people what their favorite or most memorable book recommendation is and those books have changed the way I view the world. I found that most everyone was willing to get a cup of coffee with me so that I could learn from them and pick their brain, but everyone assumes they would be too busy when in reality people love to help other people you just have to show that you want to learn!

What’s next on the horizon for you?
I plan to stay in the fitness industry for a while now, but I plan to continue to cook and share tips and tricks to live healthier lives. I have another cookbook in the works, but this one doesn’t involve the air fryer! As for my personal fitness career, I plan to compete on the pro bikini stage in 2020. Maybe spring, maybe fall... We shall see.

Where can people find you?
