Personal Statements 101

This is a great webinar for students or alums interested in learning the basics of preparing a personal statement, how it is used in the admissions process, how to choose a topic and begin writing, and how you can get feedback on your draft. To learn more about personal statements, visit

Applying to Law School

This webinar is open to all U of M students and alums, especially for those who know they're going to law school and would like guidance about the application process. We'll discuss application materials and deadlines, as well as how to prepare your application materials so that you're the best law school applicant you can be. If you are currently in the application process for Fall 2021, this is the place for you. This workshop will also include insight from current law students.

Pre-Law 101 Module. This module is perfect for someone just starting to explore law school and outlines how to explore, ways to gain experience and a brief overview of the timeline and application process. This module is available for currently enrolled University of Minnesota students only.

Individual appointments with the Pre-Law Advisor are available to students and alumni from any college who are actively in the application process, or who have already completed a workshop or drop-in session and have further questions.

LSAC Virtual Forums

Each year, LSAC Law School Forums serve as invaluable opportunities for candidates to learn about law school and connect with law school representatives. Due to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 forums are in a convenient online format. By attending an LSAC Digital Law School Forum, you’ll be able to safely connect one-to-one with law school representatives from across the country and get important information and answers to any questions you may have.
