WorkArt student fellowship application for Summer 2018 available now
The Center for German & European Studies is pleased to announce that the application for the WorkArt Fellowship Program in Germany for summer 2018 is now available.
Through the WorkArt Fellowship Program, the Center for German & European Studies provides summer fellowships each year for outstanding students enrolled in any discipline who have a demonstrated interest in art. The program provides opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to gather valuable work experience in the nonprofit sector at one of Germany’s 300+ community-based nonprofit art associations and galleries (Kunstvereine in the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutscher Kunstvereine, or ADKV, network). WorkArt offers unique insights into Germany’s art world, exhibiting and organizing art events, and cultural politics. WorkArt fellows also enjoy opportunities to develop social and professional networks in Europe as building blocks for future careers that revolve around the arts and arts management. The program is not a studio art program and students from any discipline are invited to apply.
The application deadline is Monday, February 26th, 2018 by 4:00 p.m. The application is completed online, and can be accessed via the WorkArt Kunstverein webpage here, along with information regarding additional required application materials.
We invite faculty and staff to share this unique opportunity for a summer educational experience abroad with their current students and past students. The program is open to outstanding undergraduate and graduate students in any discipline from anywhere in the U of M system, Macalester College, and Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Students must be at least 20 years of age and ready for a fellowship that provides a somewhat more independent, self-designed experience than the usual. Students will be placed with a Kunstverein based on their interests and preferences in conjunction with the needs of the organization.
The WorkArt Kunstverein webpage includes answers to most questions about the program, but we invite students and faculty to reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org with any unanswered questions.
