Gravestones and Sequins: Mapping Memories of AIDS in Queer Los Angeles

Eddy Alvarez Talk

This presentation maps queer Latinx memories of AIDS in Los Angeles. Working with an archive of oral histories, cultural production, and urban geographies of death, loss, and pleasure, this project looks at how stitching together multiple sites and memories is a way for jotería to finding sequins in the rubble of erasure and silence.
