College Students Who Stutter
The Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences at the University of Minnesota has a group especially for college students who stutter. You do not need to be a student at the University of Minnesota to participate; students from any college are welcome. The focus of the group is on talking with other college students who face the challenge of stuttering while trying to navigate the communication demands of their classes, jobs, and social lives.
There is no charge for group participation. The group meets at different times throughout the year, meeting once per month from 2:30–3:45 p.m. on a Sunday afternoon. Meeting dates may vary due to the availability of the group leaders. Snacks and beverages are provided. If members are interested, social activities in the community can be planned.
The group is led by two young men who have graduate degrees in speech-language pathology and also happen to stutter.
We welcome new members! If you are interested in getting more information and being placed on the contact list for future meetings, please contact Linda R. Hinderscheit at firstname.lastname@example.org.
