7th Annual HHEI Alumni Conference

Assistant Professor of Economics Nicolo Russo and Assistant Professor of Economics Amy Handlan

The Heller-Hurwicz Economics Institute (HHEI) is proud to host the 7th Annual HHEI Alumni Conference. The event will happen online on Thursday, July 9th, and Friday, July 10th.

The invitation-only conference is the seventh in the series and features current Ph.D. candidates as well as Ph.D. alumni from the Department of Economics of the University of Minnesota. The conference provides a valuable opportunity for final-year graduate students to present their research and gather feedback before entering the job market in late 2026.

This year, Nicolò Russo (Ph.D. 2023) and Amy Handlan (Ph.D. 2021) are giving the plenary talks. Nicolo, an Assistant Professor of Economics at Goethe University Frankfurt, will speak on “Health-Dependent Preferences, Consumption, and Insurance,” and Amy, the Yang Family Assistant Professor of Economics at Brown University, will speak on “Monetary Communication Rules.”

For more information on the event, please contact the organizer, Elena Falcettoni (Ph.D. 2019), at [email protected].
