Alumnus Honored for "Outstanding Achievement"
English MA alumnus Jeff Todd Titon (MA English; PhD American Studies) receives the University's Outstanding Achievement Award on Tuesday October 17. Professor Emeritus at Brown University, Titon is one of the foundational figures of ethnomusicology. The National Registry selected his recordings to be preserved and archived as national treasures, a testament to Titon's impact in American musicology, ethnomusicology, and popular culture. Titon is the author of Early Downhome Blues (1977), Old-Time Kentucky Fiddle Tunes (2001), and editor of Worlds of Music: An Introduction to the Music of the World's Peoples (1984).
