Calling to Question

150 Years of Liberal Arts Education at the University of Minnesota
March 4, 2019 - 8:30am to June 14, 2019 - 4:30pm

The College of Liberal Arts continues its 150th anniversary celebration with an exhibit from the University Archives. This exhibition offers a glimpse into the history of CLA with photographs, documents and other materials that tell the story of a college that has endured for 150 years.

Calling to Question celebrates the people in the College of Liberal Arts. The exhibit explores the challenges they have faced, and how they have questioned both the college itself and the role of liberal education in society. Through their struggles we see how liberal education promotes questioning as a way to strive for the betterment of the human condition—sometimes successfully and sometimes not.

Calling to Question will be on display from March 4 through June 14, 2019 in the Wallin Center, Bell Gallery (ground floor).

Open Monday through Friday during regular building hours.
