“The Jury Trial in Ancient Greece: A Revolution in Justice with Implications for the Modern World”
HELLER HALL, ROOM 1210
The Annual Lauritsen Lecture brings a distinguished historian of the ancient world to the University of Minnesota every year to deliver a public lecture in ancient history. This year's lecture will be presented by Sara Forsdyke, professor of classical studies and history at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, who studies slavery in ancient Greece and ancient Greek law through a comparative lens to the modern world. Her most recent book, Slaves Tell Tales and Other Episodes in the Politics of Popular Culture in Ancient Greece, was published by Princeton University Press in 2012.
Presented by the Department of History. Free and open to the public.
