Italian Film Event Draws More Than 200 Attendees
This year marks the 8th annual Italian Film Festival of Minneapolis and St. Paul at the historic St. Anthony Main Theatre. More than 200 people attended the screenings of If Only I Were That Warrior and Blaxploitalian at Saint Anthony Main in February. The screening of these documentaries, which focused on the legacy of Italy's occupation of Ethiopia and differences in Italian media and TV, respectively, was made possible by the support of the Department of French & Italian, the African Studies Initiative, and the Italian Cultural Center. In addition to these documentaries, the Italian film festival included dramas, comedies, and a silent film (with live accompaniment by avant-garde band Sun-Silo).
