Racial covenants were hidden in tens of thousands of Minneapolis housing deeds. Graduate student Kevin Ehrman-Solberg is using GIS mapping to shed light on the hidden history and conventional narrative of the city.
GES faculty member, Kathryn Grace, was the sole author of a paper recently published by Nature.com. The article, "Considering climate in studies of fertility and reproductive health in poor countries" appears on-line as of June 30th.
Dr. Elizabeth Johnson, a recent graduate of our program, has accepted a permanent faculty position at Durham University in the UK. Durham is widely considered to be one of the top Geography departments in the UK and internationally. Our department continues to be represented in the global community. Congratulations Dr. Johnson.
