UMN Geography Students in Print

Several Geography Graduate Students recently have been published. Mara McPartland, PhD candidate, was lead author for a paper examining the effects of signal processing on tree-ring records, which appeared in the September issue of Dendrochronologia: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1125786520300941.  Recent Grad, Amanda Hefner, and MA student, Judith Avila are co-authors on a piece that appeared in Nature Geoscience this past Monday, which highlighted the value of ancient floods to modern risk assessments: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41561-020-00664-2 And finally recent graduate, Uday Thapa (now at UC Santa Barbara) had the third chapter of his dissertation published by Geophysical Research Letters.
