Calhoun published in the Environment and Planning C: Politics and Space
An article written by GES graduate student, Liz Calhoun, was recently published in Environment and Planning C: Politics and Space, entitled "Communities of exposure, community as exposure: Thinking collective life in the police abolitionist movement." Liz not only challenges how geographers think about community, she also draws out a novel abolitionist understanding of "communities of/community as" exposure that leads to a politics of care and, as she puts it, "refuses the notion that police could sanitize community of its risks." Congratulations, Liz!
