Emergency Relief Fund for GWSS Graduate Students

The Department of Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies is raising money for 22 of our graduate students who are living in the epicenter of protest in South Minneapolis. Many of them are in communities where fires have burned, where white nationalists and others are terrorizing their communities. Many are in dire need of support, housing support, financial support, and emotional and social support during this time. Our students are away from their families are confined to small, multi-resident homes that are boarded up and surrounded by many kinds of protestors--both non-violent protestors and those who are intent on destruction and mayhem. Our students are very low-income workers and don't have the economic resources they need to cope with this ongoing social crisis. Furthermore, they have lost important sources of income during the C0VID-19 pandemic. We need your support now. Please consider giving, and giving generously, to support this fund. We are counting on you.  Our goal is to provide immediate relief with $500 for each of our graduate students. Graduate students are the life of our department, and we must support them during this time.
