The Heller-Hurwicz Economics Institute (HHEI) is proud to host the 2nd Annual HHEI Alumni Conference. The event will happen online on Thursday, June 24th , and Friday, June 25th.

The invitation-only conference is the second in the series and features current Ph.D. candidates as well as Ph.D. alumni from the Department of Economics of the University of Minnesota. The conference provides a valuable opportunity for final-year graduate students to present their research and gather feedback before entering the job market in early 2022.

This year, Sergio Salgado (Ph.D. 2018) and Rocío Madera (Ph.D. 2017) are giving the plenary talks. Salgado, an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School, will speak on "Why Are the Wealthy So Wealthy." Madera will share work in progress on "Assortative Mating and Income Dynamics of Couples."

For more information on the event, please contact the organizer, Elena Falcettoni (Ph.D. 2019), at elena.falcettoni@frb.gov.
