CourseShare Courses for Fall 2025
The University of Minnesota offers 25 local language programs, including languages like Dakota, Finnish, Ojibwe, Oromo, Somali and Urdu, which are rarely taught at US universities.
But what about students who are looking for a different language?
Good news! We are an active participant in the CourseShare program, and the tentative class list for Fall 2025 is now available. It includes popular returning languages like Persian, Turkish and Yoruba, and newer additions like Akan, Burmese and Khmer. It also features LANG 3507: Korean Language and Contemporary Pop Culture, which is open to all students, and LANG 1311: Italian for Reading Knowledge, intended for graduate students. You can request updates on a particular course, or request a new language, by submitting a short course request form or emailing [email protected].
