The Language Center is pleased to invite graduate students in the foreign language programs to participate in a workshop series that aims at increasing understanding and knowledge about foreign language curricula and designing upper-level content courses.

The series includes three workshops:

  • Workshop I: Designing your dream course: How to design a content course in your area of specialization, February 7, 2020. Presenter: Dr. Jennifer Redmann, Professor of German, Franklin & Marshall College.
  • Workshop II: Teaching your dream course, February 21, 2020. Presenter: Dr. Gwen Barnes-Karol, Professor of Spanish, Saint Olaf College
  • Workshop III: How to teach your dream course in different formats (e.g., hybrid, online, technology-enhanced), March 6, 2020. Presenter: Dr. Amy Rossomondo, Associate Professor of Spanish, University of Kansas, in collaboration with Dr. Gillian Lord, Professor and Chair, University of Florida.

The workshops are scheduled for Fridays, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Breakfast items will be available starting at 8:30 am. These workshops are thematically intertwined and will focus on current issues and strategies that might help you become more marketable upon graduation.
