Dire or Dice? Using Zoom Live Transcript to improve Pronunciation

I've used closed-captioning to call students' attention to pronunciation problems. For example, a student in one class was explaining the word "dire" to classmates, and in the auto transcription it came out as "dice." I pointed it out. With very minimal coaching, she was able to modify her pronunciation and get the instant feedback of an accurate transcription in the rest of her explanation. This could be a useful feature for instructors in classes of all kinds. If your words don't come out right, maybe you need to enunciate more clearly. To enable transcription in Zoom, click on the Live Transcript icon at the bottom of the screen and select “Enable Auto-Transcription".
