At the biennial conference of the International Association for Language Learning Technology (IALLT) on June 17, 2021, Language Center Director Dan Soneson received the Ruth Trometer Lifetime Achievement Award "in recognition of many years of service and support as well as numerous contributions to the profession." Dan served as editor of the IALLT Journal from 2012-2017.  He co-presented twice at the conference, once with Marlene Johnshoy from CARLA and Jonathan Perkins from the University of Kansas about the Midwest Association for Language Learning Technology’s (MWALLT) innovative online conference in 2020 and 2021, and at a panel session focusing on the Language Collaboratory, our professional learning consortium organized with language centers and institutes at the University of Iowa, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan State. Dan served as President of MWALLT from 2014-2018, and Treasurer of the organization from 2014-2020. MWALLT also presented Dan with a crystal award plaque this spring "in Appreciation for many years of service and leadership of MWALLT."
