New LC Grant to Study AI and Language Learning
Language Center Director Amanda Dalola & Senior Student Engagement & Education Specialist Saena Dozier have been awarded a 2026–2027 research grant from World Languages 360 for their innovative project, Rethinking the Interlocutor: New Forms of Human-AI Collaboration in L2 Development.
Their research will explore how emerging forms of human–AI interaction can support second language learning and transform the ways learners engage with conversational partners, feedback, and communication in the language classroom.
Through new models of collaboration between learners and AI, the project aims to contribute to the evolving future of language education and student engagement.
The grant will support research activities throughout the 2026–2027 academic year, as well as the presentation of findings at professional conferences.
