Grover Maxwell Memorial Prize Announcement
The Minnesota Center for Philosophy of Science (MCPS) will consider nominations for the inaugural Grover Maxwell Memorial Prize in Spring 2026. The prize is given to undergraduate philosophy students with an outstanding record in philosophy of science and comes with an award of $300. The funds for the prize were provided by friends and colleagues of Grover Maxwell after his passing in 1981.
The recipient must be a full-time (minimum of 15 credits per semester) student at the University of Minnesota during the Spring semester and have a declared major in philosophy at the time of the prize’s awarding
Students must be nominated for the prize by April 1st, 2026. Nominations may come from instructors, teaching assistants, other community members, or from the student, themself. Students can be nominated by filling out this google form.
