A member of the Minnesota Center for Philosophy of Science and PhD student in the philosophy department, Lauren Wilson’s work touches on the philosophy of biology and bioethics. Her recently completed dissertation, "The Scope and Limits of Reasoning Practices in Behavior Genetics," investigates conceptual and ethical issues that arise when viewing human behavioral genetics in light of behavioral genetics performed in non-human organisms.

Following the successful completion of her dissertation, Lauren is starting as a postdoctoral research fellow on the Human Genomics without Racism (HUGERA) project run by Celso Neto at the University of Exeter. The aim of the project is to develop a framework for ethically responsible research in human genomics. While there, she expects to continue to think about the ways scientific methods shape reasoning practices and the ethics of scientific research more generally.
