The Instrumental Methods Beginning Instrumental Concert
2106 4th St S
Minneapolis,
MN
55455
Directed by the junior music education students of MUED 5516 under the supervision of Dr. Danni Gilbert. The goal is for students to gain practical experience with concert programming and logistics, rehearsing, conducting, public speaking, and performing (on secondary instruments) in a beginning instrumental concert in front of a live audience. Each student chose and is conducting two selections they feel would be appropriate for beginning instrumentalists. In addition, each student is serving as a performer on at least two instruments from different families that are not considered their primary instrument to improve their breadth of skills. Finally, some students used this as an opportunity to practice composition and arranging skills. Students spent class time rehearsing for this concert and were responsible for preparing their program information.
