Storytelling and Music Making

A pedagogy class on performing arts in Africa will present an interdisciplinary arts performance featuring Ghanaian musician, composer, and ethnomusicologist Sowah Mensah, as well as Mozambican storyteller, musician, and composer Nyttu Chongo. The class prepares music teachers with the skills and dispositions to implement intercultural performing arts and develop sustainable teaching materials that originate in cultures within and outside their areas of competence.
